Ecole Nationale d’Aerotechnique implements new Dassault Systems Internet solution
November 27, 2012, Toronto, ON – ENGINEERING.com Incorporated [TSXV: EGN]: North American reseller of Dassault Systems Academic PLM licensing announces that École nationale d’aérotechnique (ÉNA) of St Hubert, Quebec is the first academic institution in Canada to begin working with the Dassault Systems V6 platform.
“CATIA has been a key component to the Aircraft Manufacturing Technology program since its introduction in 1998. It is a natural progression to migrate to the new V6 platform” says Normand Guilbault, director of Informational and Technologies Systems. “We have always prided ourselves in providing our students the best instruction with the best tools”.
The V6 platform includes the Dassault Systems CATIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA and ENOVIA brands as well as offering the unique distinction of featuring a data server accessible via the Internet. This will provide a collaborative environment where students can collaborate with instructors and students alike in class, from home or anywhere else they have internet access.

ÉNA has participated in international design projects in the past to expose students to real world challenges and looks forward to expanding those experiences for their students. “V6 will allow more efficient collaboration across the projects, and individual student contribution can be easily traced “ Michel Michaud, instructor, stated, “In addition, with the V6 environment instructors and mentors have the ability to easily monitor and step in to assist where necessary.”

ÉNA utilized the ENGINEERING.com V6 Hosted Solutions in order to get the V6 platform up and running quickly and efficiently. “The Hosted Solutions took the cost and burden of implementing and maintaining the multiple servers and related databases that V6 requires off of the IT Department.” Said Jean-Guy Chartrand, computer technician “This allows us to direct resources and energy to other areas where it is better used”.
“ÉNA is unique in Canada in setting the bar high for other schools. ÉNA’s implementation and use of V6 not only will provide their students a powerful educational advantage as they continue through their academic career, but gives them valuable experience as they move into their professional careers,”  said David Livingstone, Director – Academic Programs, ENGINEERING.com
