BIOFACH India 2012 all set to open to Bangaloreans in the Garden City
BioFach India 2012, will be inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Jagadish Shettar on November 29, 2012, at 11.00 am in Bangalore at Shri Krishna Vihar, Palace Grounds.
Organized by Nurnberg Messe, the Department of Agriculture, Government of Karnataka and the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA), BioFach India 2012 consists of 141 stalls with 83 Private exhibitors and 16 International exhibitors along with 8 State Pavilions, which comprise Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Mizoram. Fair is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm for Trade Visitors, and for General Visitors from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
Manoj K. Menon, Executive Director of ICCOA said, "While showcasing the Organic opportunity in India and the emerging global trends, the conference will also focus on the important connect of organic agriculture to sustainability. This is an opportunity to learn new technologies and to share the experiences of success stories in organic agribusiness. . Special emphasis will be given to B to B model as well as to Consumer education (B to C)’ ’he added.
The Fourth edition of the BioFach series will see various interesting sessions such as The Consumer Connect Program, School connect programme, Farmers workshop, discussions, Trade exhibition, Buyers-Sellers meet, Organic food festival, Recipe contests and others . Also a thought provoking panel discussion will bring together experts from various disciplines like Nutritionists, Surgeons, Farmers and Consumers to talk about Food and its relation to Health. School Connect Program will be initiated with Film screening, Quiz contest and Discussion to engage students and raise awareness about good and healthy eating. In addition there will be Organic Food Festival, Cooking Demos, food tasting sessions. Visitors can indulge in sumptuous and healthy organic food & can get firsthand experience of interactive activities like food tasting sessions and cooking demos that can be easily adopted in everyday life.
The BioFach India 2012 is the largest exhibition of its kind with a reputation for showcasing the participants from different countries. This year 16 exhibitors from different countries have confirmed their participation. Also there will be a Buyers Delegation & B2B trade meets. The delegations of buyers are from Europe, United States and the Middle East. The buyers will be taken for a visit to organic farms located in Coorg (Madikere), Bidloor and to food parks around Karnataka.
