Tropical Asphalt [their original name] was a small, rural company that functioned part manufacturer and part distributor. As the landscape in Florida began to shift from rural to urban, the company was put up for sale.

Once the Zegelbone’s took over the company, they started producing better quality products and professional grade materials. By creating better materials for their customers, the Zegelbone’s began selling product all over the state of Florida. Active industry involvement, creating better engineered materials, and adding organizational structure throughout the company allowed Tropical began to shed their old reputation.

The move to new-generation products occurred almost 20 years ago. It was this type of innovative thinking that gave Tropical the mindset for early adoption of energy efficiency and sustainable products produced today.  The new world has brought variety and change, and Tropical Roofing Products embraces new technology and new times with the same passion and values that brought them here 60 years later.
