WholesaleInsurance.net Announces Winners of $6,000 Life Insurance Video Scholarship Contest

Nov. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- ROSEVILLE, Calif.—WholesaleInsurance.net, a leading national provider of online life insurance quotes, is proud to announce the winners of their $6,000 video scholarship contest.  

The first place winner of a $3,000 college scholarship is Alice Cannon of Blackfoot, Idaho, with her video, “Life Insurance Fixes Everything.”  The second place winner of a $2,000 scholarship is Victor Hughes from Sparks, Nevada, with a video titled “Life Insurance.”  Morgan Marvin from Lancaster, California claimed the third place $1,000 scholarship prize with “Be Aware Be Prepared.”  All three winning videos can still be seen on WholesaleInsurance.net's Facebook page.

The contest opened in September to coincide with Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM), an industry awareness event promoting the importance of life insurance.  To participate, high school and college students were asked to create a short video about life insurance.  Facebook voting determined the winner—the video with the most “Likes” on the company’s scholarship entry page claimed the prize.

“It’s rewarding to be able to give back to these students who took our message and did something creative with it,” said Ryan Pinney, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at WholesaleInsurance.net.  “The videos we saw ranged from the humorous to the emotional.  I’m impressed with the range of creativity these students displayed.”  

The contest’s original submission deadline fell on a day when much of the East Coast was still recovering from the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy.  The deadline was extended to allow students on the East Coast a chance to get back to school and finalize their submissions.  

“This was a reminder of why life insurance is so important,” Pinney notes.  “You never know when disaster will strike, whether it’s a hurricane or an earthquake or a household accident.  It’s something many don’t think about until it’s too late, as several of our student videos pointed out.”  Approximately 95 million adult Americans have no life insurance coverage at all, while tens of millions more are likely underinsured.
