Nov. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Opsview®, the IT monitoring software vendor, today announced that it has enhanced its software with advanced auto-discovery capabilities, enabling its customers to better safeguard service levels by reducing the risk of ‘monitoring gaps’.

“In an era of virtualization and the Cloud, IT infrastructures change quickly and without warning. Opsview 4.2’s advanced auto-discovery capabilities enhance service delivery by reducing the risk of manually tracking these dynamic IT environments,” said Tom Callway, Marketing Manager at Opsview.

The vendor also claims Opsview 4.2 will discover network devices and servers over seven times faster than competitive products.

“Our lab tests have shown Opsview 4.2 can discover a typical IT environment (250 hosts) in less than 40 seconds compared with over 5 minutes for competitive products,” continued Callway.

Opsview 4.2’s new auto-discovery features are complimented by further innovation when visualizing complex data. Customers can now display their network topology using interactive ‘dashlets’ to better understand the relationship between devices and monitor their status in real-time.

Built for both service providers and enterprise customers, Opsview offers flexible pricing and deployment models that can easily be aligned to a customer’s business need.

“By giving their own customers access to Opsview 4.2’s dashboards, service providers can offer a superior and differentiated customer experience while addressing critical IT business services,” added Callway.

In summary, Opsview’s latest software release offers the following new and enhanced features:

• Autodiscovery for rapid setup and management of dynamic IT infrastructures
• Network topology maps for visualizing device dependencies
• Host group tree maps for visualizing the number of errors within host groups
• Dashboard and dashlet cloning
• Dashboard sharing by email
• Support for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
• Out-of-the-box monitors for Oracle/PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL, and Windows Server 2008 via WMI

Opsview 4.2 builds on the successful release of Opsview 4 and Opsview Mobile for iOS earlier this year. Learn more about Opsview's products at http://www.opsview.com/solutions
