Eloqua, Hootsuite, Thomson-Reuters launch new digital marketing project
Eloqua, the global marketing automation giant, has announced the launch of a collaborative new project collating expert insights into digital and online marketing.
Industry expertise gathered
Creatively produced in the form of an online galaxy, The ‘Modern Marketer Mission’ includes content and input from influential marketing thought-leaders including Harte-Hanks, Thomson Reuters and Hootsuite.
The new platform represents Eloqua’s attempts to reach out to marketing specialists and industry experts. Once invited to ‘Join the Mission’, users gain staggered access to the exclusive strategy and marketing insights created by the collaborating companies.

Unusually, Eloqua chose to adopt a gamification approach more often seen in B2C campaigns, creating an online space that takes a decidedly tongue-in-cheek look at the marketing universe. Hence ‘Data World’ has a toxic atmosphere clogged with surplus information, while the ‘Mobile Satellite’ hovers, waiting to be put to more effective use.
HootSuite, the social media management system, unsurprisingly claims the ‘Social Solar System’, sharing its take on the challenges and opportunities faced as businesses struggle to maximise the potential of social media.
'Rapid evolution' of marketing
Sylvia Jensen, EMEA marketing director at Eloqua, disclosed: “With the Modern Marketer Mission, what we want most of all is to hear from people in the industry. Marketing is undergoing rapid evolution at the moment, and I think everyone has something to say on the matter.”
A Twitter campaign encourages marketing enthusiasts to share their own take on the current and future situation by using the hashtag #modernmarketer, while on Facebook, Eloqua is gathering crowdsourced examples of effective online marketing.
