DC Chiropractic Office Supports the Katherine Hanley Shelter & Hope Foundation

Nov. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Nova Health and Wellness's continued initiative to support their community.

Nova Health and Wellness, a Northern Virginia Chiropractic Office, today announced that they are supporting Fairfax County’s newest homeless shelter, Katherine Hanley Shelter & Hope Foundation, during this holiday season.

"The Katherine K. Hanley Family Shelter is the first shelter in Fairfax County to operate on the “Housing First/Rapid Re-housing” model, which emphasizes moving families into permanent housing as quickly as possible and continuing to work with them once they are in permanent housing. The model is based on the premise that families respond better to services when they are in their own homes, as compared to in shelters. Immediately upon entry to the shelter, families are assessed for major housing barriers. Shelter House then assists families to overcome those barriers. The family is moved as quickly as possible into appropriate housing. As a result, the average length of stay for families in the shelter will decrease. Nova Health and Wellness in Centreville, VA is giving their community a chance on December 3rd - December 16th to Support this Homeless Shelter. All NEW patients may receive a full exam and one set of xrays in exchange for a toy or 2 packs of diapers. All proceeds will go to the Katherine Hanley Shelter & Hope Foundation.
