Nov. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- On November 25th cast members of WICKED will announce the Pali Momi Medical Center’s Health Care Hero and present the Pali Momi Women’s Center with a significant monetary gift at a special benefit reception event.

Through an online nomination process at www.PaliMomiGift.org, patients served at Pali Momi Medical Center and their families have submitted stories about how their lives were changed forever by their caring and skilled caregivers – their Health Care Heroes. One such hero and his or her family, along with their patient/family nominator(s) will be celebrated that day with tickets to a special performance of the show.

WICKED and the Pali Momi Foundation have partnered in this effort to raise funds and awareness of the vital patient-centered, comprehensive health services provided by Pali Momi Women’s Center.  Funds were raised through advanced sales of benefit tickets.

After breaking box office records and selling out across the country, WICKED will debut in Honolulu on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 22, with performances scheduled through January 12. Visit http://www.magicspace.net/honolulu/#.UK5SHeR7Rxt for more information..

On Sunday, November 25th at 4pm, immediately following the matinee show, members of the cast of WICKED will welcome Pali Momi Medical Center staff, patients and their families on the lawn at the Neal Blaisdell Center.  There will be a reception with performances by some of the stars of the show, including local boy Cliffton Hall, as well as the awarding of Pali Momi’s Health Care Hero and presentation of a significant monetary gift to the Pali Momi Women’s Center.

“We are grateful to WICKED, Broadway Hawai‘i and the generous ticket-buying audience, for this remarkable gift, said Jen Chahanovich, Chief Operating Officer at Pali Momi Medical Center.  Their donation will help support our specialized services and personalized programs for cancer patients at the Pali Momi Women’s Center; the only facility of its kind in West O‘ahu.”

Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz.  One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood.  The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.  WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friendsgrow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Called “a cultural phenomenon” by Variety, WICKED continues to thrill audiences around the world. There are currently seven productions of WICKED worldwide: New York; London; Japan; Holland; Australian/Asian Tour; and twoconcurrent North American National Tours.

About Broadway In Hawaii / MagicSpace Entertainment

Broadway In Hawaii has been presenting the very best touring Broadway productions at Honolulu’s Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall and the historic Hawaii Theater since 1999. Most recently, our sold-out engagement of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast took Hawaii by storm and CATS was the hottest family ticket during the holidays. Its CATS fundraiser for Kapi’olani Medical Center was an incredible success, earning Hawaii’s favorite non-profit charity thousands of dollars! In December 2011, Broadway In Hawaii / MagicSpace Entertainment presented the Hawaii premiere of RIVERDANCE. It took 16 years for this international Irish dancing phenomenon to reach Honolulu. Over the next few seasons, we hope to present more long overdue, top quality shows in Honolulu, including the world’s favorite musical, WICKED.
