Unsatisfied with cheap, vinegar-based hot sauces, partners Adam Ross and Tucky Towmor thought it was time to make a line of high quality hot sauce inspired by Tucky’s Thai roots and combined with each of their travel experiences eating cuisines from different cultures around the world. They made the company’s mission to create new foods using a few simple ideals: whenever possible, use fresh, natural ingredients instead of frozen or processed; source locally; don’t use any artificial colors or flavors; and most importantly, make premium quality products unlike anything else out there.
Apinya Thai Chili Sauce has a completely unique flavor compared to other hot sauces on the market. The combination of ginger and garlic creates an exotic topping that compliments sushi, salads, soups, seafood, steak, or just about any dish you can imagine. Used as a dip it works perfectly for finger foods like shrimp, cheeses, sliced vegetables, and even fruits. Combined with condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard it spices up burgers and sandwiches.
“We wanted to create a flagship hot sauce that stands out as very different from anything else available,” said Tucky Towmor, Marketing Director of Apinya Thai Food Co. “Most other hot sauces use vinegar as the base, giving them a very sour taste, watery composition, and have no pronounced flavors in addition to the spiciness. Apinya Thai Chili Sauce was created with fresh vegetables as the main ingredients for a flavor balance that’s savory, spicy, and hot.”
The sauce’s heat level is rated from 50,000–100,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHUs) for an intense balance of heat with the natural flavors. For comparison, jalapeño chili sauces are rated from 2,500–5,000 SHUs and habanero chili sauces are rated from 100,000–300,000.
