-- November 20, 2012 – This fall, The Remi Group decided to make Dove’s Nest, the Charlotte Rescue Mission’s brand new women’s program, the beneficiary of the annual company charity drive. During the two-week competitive drive, nine captains volunteered to encourage their randomly chosen teams to bring in the Dove’s Nest most needed non-perishable food, kitchen, and cleaning items. The team that brought in the largest quantity of items won a free PTO (Paid Time Off) day to be used in 2013 and the winning team captain won an American Express gift card. History repeated itself and once again, The Remi Group employees rose to the challenge. The winning team brought in 2,511 items alone; as a company, a donation of 7,355 items was made to the women and children at Dove’s Nest! Since doing a similar competition in 2010, the company donated two-and-a-half times as much in 2012. The Remi Group is looking forward to next year’s drive already!
Dove’s Nest is a two-phase program that allows residents to experience individual counseling, group therapy, education classes, living skills training, biblical applications for emotional wounds, and sober support group development.
