Aspiranet Receives Gold Seal of Approval of Accreditation

Leading California social services agency earns prestigious Joint Commission accreditation

Nov. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- (SAN FRANCISO) – Aspiranet and Aspira Wellness and Education Inc., a San Francisco-based nonprofit that supports foster children, siblings, families and the community, has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation after an exhaustive evaluation process.

The independent Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as reflecting an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

To earn the Gold Seal of Approval, Aspiranet and Aspira Wellness and Education were subjected to a rigorous on-site survey Aug.13-16. A team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated Aspiranet and Aspira Wellness and Education Inc. for compliance with the highest standards of care in infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management for the individuals and families they serve.

“With Joint Commission accreditation, we are making a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis. The Joint Commission accreditation provides us a framework to take our organization to the next level and helps create a culture of excellence,” Aspiranet CEO Vernon Brown said. “Achieving Joint Commission accreditation for our organization is a major step toward maintaining excellence and continually improving the care we provide.”

Founded 37 years ago as a six-bed group home for young boys in Moss Beach, Calif., Aspiranet is a diverse statewide nonprofit social service agency that focuses on six areas of expertise – family services, foster care, adoption, education, afterschool programs and community partnerships.

With a statewide network of innovative services, Aspiranet touches the lives of thousands of children and families annually. “Our vision to take collective action to support families’ ability to love and care for their children is central to Aspiranet’s work,” states Brown. “The Joint Commission Accreditation is Aspiranet’s on-going commitment to that vision.”
