FREE Toys and Holiday Cheer at Special Needs Network’s “Lunch with Santa”

(Los Angeles, CA, November 20, 2012) – Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN) will give away thousands of toys to children and young teens at the first ever “Lunch with Santa,” a free holiday celebration that will also include lunch, meet and greet with Santa and his elves, live music, holiday arts and crafts, and special door prizes and raffles.  There will also be sensory toys for children with autism and related developmental disabilities.  The event will take place at 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday, December 20th at the Ronald Tutor Grand Ballroom on the campus of the University of Southern California.

“Lunch with Santa” is an extension of SNN’s original evening celebration “Christmas Care Exchange and Toy Giveaway,” which reached capacity just three days after registration opened, due to overwhelming demand.  Having consistently gained popularity, last year’s Christmas celebration drew a crowd of over 600 attendees, up from just 200 in 2010.

“Though we were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming demand, we are thankful to have the resources and support to be able to host a 2nd event on the same day,” said SNN President & Founder Areva Martin Esq., “We want everyone to get free toys and have a Merry Christmas.”

With a longstanding mission to help children and families from underserved communities, SNN has enlisted the support of several sponsors and partners to help collect toys for the event, making “Lunch with Santa” truly a community effort at bringing Christmas to South L.A.’s less-fortunate residents.

Toys are being collected via toy drives by the California High Way Patrol’s ‘CHiPs for Kids’ program, KCAL 9/CBS 2, Good 360 & Mattel, Office of Senator Curren D. Price Jr., Monica Holloway, Aisha & Quincy Smith, and Sister Spice Ministries. To make a toy donation, please email info@specialneedsnetwork.org or call 213-389-7100.

“Lunch with Santa” is free and open to the general public with advance RSVP. Space is limited, so please do so today at www.specialneedsnetwork.org.
