Nov. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Arab filmmakers looking for more production resources and viewers can benefit from a new partnership formed by YallaTV, the first website showcasing Arab films, and Arab Media Lab, the first media arts platform of its kind serving Arab filmmakers.

"We are very excited about our new, year-long partnership with Arab Media Lab and the Digital Marrakech Film Festival," said Aaron Spring, marketing director for YallaTV.   "Arab Media Lab offers 'one-stop shopping' to Arab filmmakers who want to improve their technical skills, collaborate with other filmmakers and present film and video on a variety of platforms.  By partnering with Arab Media Lab, we will be able to reach out to more Arab filmmakers, and help them expand the audience for their work through our rapidly growing internet film platform."

"Arab Media Lab made valuable contributions to YallaTV's first annual Middle East Virtual Film Festival" said YallaTV producer Rana Hdeib.  "We look forward to participating in the 2012 Digital Marrakesh Film Festival with Arab Media Lab.  It's all part of our commitment to substantially grow the Arab film industry and partner with other recognized leaders in this marketplace."

About Arab Media Lab

Based in Morocco and serving the Arab World, Arab Media Lab (AML) provides Arab filmmakers with a range of resources to express their vision, develop their professional craft and present their work to wider audiences.  The first media arts platform of its kind, AML encourages artistic excellence, fosters a greater understanding of Arabic art and culture, and supports experimentation with media arts and digital cinema.

To help filmmakers hone their technical capabilities, AML offers free access to equipment, technology and professional assistance.  Expressing a social attitude to the new media, AML also works to build professional relationships through artist residencies, seminars and workflow exchange.

Arabic speaking artists from the Middle East, North Africa and other regions use AML to present their work at public events, exhibitions, and film screenings.  AML's resource-rich website also serves as virtual gallery space for their work.

AML is the only initiative in the Arab World that carries out research media studies about Arab stereotypes in the Western media and studies Arabic language moving-image archives through lectures, workshops and other film programs.
