Breckenridge Landscape to Install Fire Pit at Wehr Nature Center

Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Breckenridge Landscape of New Berlin, WI is set to begin construction of a new Fire Pit area at the Wehr Nature Center in Franklin, WI. The project will get underway in late November and should be completed by the end of the month (November 2012).

The new Fire Pit area will be constructed using natural stone materials to compliment the nature center environment including stone outcropping seat rocks, a granite boulder fire ring and a natural flagstone patio area. The space will be used for various gatherings and educational events at Wehr.

Breckenridge has worked with Wehr before, installing a Permeable Paver walkway and children's play area in 2009. That project as well as the fire pit area project are part of the long term plan that the nature center has to incorporate more educational and eco-friendly spaces on the grounds.

Wehr is currently fundraising for the third phase of the project which includes replacing several thousand square feet of asphalt with permeable pavers. The pavers, manufactured by Unilock, allow water to pass through the joints of the pavers and then infiltrate back into the soil.

Wehr hopes to be able to begin the permeable paver project late next year (2013)
