Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- The dominant Motown era was fueled by more than just a few of the popular faces that appeared on the records of the covers and in advertisements. From the Funk Brothers, the saxophonists, trombonist, and trumpeters, a new project is planned to go behind the scenes of what was truly a remarkable era.

The project is currently seeking funding online through a site called Indiegogo.com/MotownEmpire, this site allows independent projects to receive funding purely for their ideas.  With donations ranging anywhere from $3 to $1,500, the latter donation also provides funders with a private concert, for them and up to 20 of their family and friends, in addition to much more, you can become a part of this production.

Everyone knows the music of Motown. The far-reaching record company’s music defined a generation, and had a remarkable influence on music which still stretches to this day.  The Supremes, Lionel Richie and Jackson 5 are just a few of the big names that were associated with Motown, and, being the superstars they are, everybody knows them.

But what about the people in the background, the people who didn’t have their name shouted from the rooftops, the people that actually performed the music in the songs? Society seems to have forgotten them.  Thus, Duane Parham plans to pay tribute to these unsung heroes of Motown with a new documentary called “The Unsung Musicians of the Motown Empire”.

In what is quite possible one of the most interesting and captivating Motown documentaries to date, Duane Parham plans to interview many of the behind the scenes legends of the empire, including saxophonist Ernie Rodgers and trumpet player Johnny Trudell, along with various friends and family.

Through personal, revealing interviews, these musicians are honoured, finally giving them the chance to step into the limelight after long, successful yet quiet careers.
