TechCelerator Entrepreneurs Presented Business Ideas to Panel of Experts

Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Harrisburg, PA - On Thursday, November 15, 2012, graduates of an eight-week business mentoring program offered by Ben Franklin’s TechCelerator  presented their business plan concepts to a panel of local business professionals that included: Doug Neidich from Green Works; Sam Coyl from Netrepid; and Chuck Russell from Collective Intelligence.

A variety of ideas which focused on several market segments and industries such as software development and alternative energy were presented, giving the entrepreneurs the opportunity to experience “pitching” their business concepts to perspective investors, customer, and employees.  The participants included:

Jody’s Car Sense – Auto repair advice
Deals 2 Donate – Fundraising software
Stickybite – Retail loyalty program
The Usic – Virtual marketplace for “creatives”
Vivifye –Unique interactive content platform
Mobitso – Destination management solutions
Sunbloc  - Solar energy cogeneration building systems

Keith Myers, CEO of Sunbloc Systems, remarked, “The most valuable thing we received from this program was an honest, objective opinion of our business model. We were truly amazed by the things we learned over the last few months.”

The Executive Director of the TechCelerator, Pam Martin, commented, “All of the participants worked really hard, not only during the eight weeks of the cohort, but also in preparing their final presentations.  Everyone did a great job.”

The TechCelerator concept, which was developed by Ben Franklin Technology Partners/CNP and the economic development arm of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber (, provides designated, shared workspace and focused business support services in an incubator setting to eligible start-ups for eight-week sessions.
