Getting the Love You Want: Special Weekend With the Founders in Atlanta

Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlanta – Who doesn’t want more love? Everyone does, because at the end of the day, relationships are what matter. Known around the world for the Getting the Love You Want series, international best selling authors Harville Hendrix and his wife and co-creator of Imago Helen LaKelly Hunt will offer an exclusive two-day couples workshop in Atlanta this December. Hendrix and Hunt will spend a weekend sharing their relationship expertise while providing couples with the specific skills to build a better relationship.

Based on the theory and exercises described in the best-selling book Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples, this event is an intensive two-day workshop for married and unmarried couples to rediscover the joy and spiritual potential of being together. Proceeds raised from this workshop will benefit Imago Relationships International; a 501c3 public charity consisting of an Institute, which trains relationship therapists, develops marriage-counseling programs, and offers couples workshops. Imago founders Harville Hendrix, PhD and Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD serve as Emeritus Board members.

About Harville Hendrix, PhD
Harville Hendrix is a Clinical Pastoral Counselor who is known internationally for his work with couples. He and his wife Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D. co-created Imago Relationship Therapy and developed the concept of “conscious partnership.” Their partnership and collaboration has resulted in nine books on intimate relationships and parenting.
Hendrix has made seventeen guest appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show as well as The Today Show, Good Morning America and The View.

Hendrix is the author of Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples and Keeping the Love You Find: A Personal Guide, both New York Times best sellers. With Hunt, he co-authored Giving the Love That Heals: A Guide for Parents, also a best seller, and Receiving Love: Transform Your Relationship by Letting Yourself Be Loved plus three meditation books, two study guides and a video for couples seen on more than 300 public television stations. Their books are published in over 57 languages. Together, Hendrix and Hunt have six children and live in New York and New Mexico.

About Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD
Helen LaKelly Hunt is an acknowledged expert on women’s funding and the Abolitionist roots of U.S. feminism and was honored as an inductee in the National Women’s Hall of Fame. She is co-founder of Women Moving Millions, an international movement to raise the bar on women’s funding and has also been instrumental in fostering the movement of global women’s philanthropy).

With her husband Harville Hendrix, Hunt is the co-author of seven books including the bestselling Giving the Love That Heals: A Guide for Parents. This private practice was founded in 1980 by married couple Wendy Palmer Patterson, MSW, LCSW, LMFT and Bob Patterson M.Ed, LPC, LMFT.  Trained directly by Harville Hendrix, Wendy and Bob have been helping couples and individuals solve relationship issues for more than 30 years. Wendy is a clinical faculty member of Imago Relationships International, and trains and supervises therapists all over the world. In addition to private practice, Bob serves as the current President of the Board of Imago Relationships International, as well as consults for Fortune 500 corporations and family businesses.  He also facilitates The Clearing for Men, support groups to help men build skills, exchange thoughts and embrace life to the fullest.  Together, Bob and Wendy have presented the Getting the Love You Want couples workshop at least 300 times during the past 20 years.
