Installation of Thermatool Welder marks Significant Power Savings for Nikopol Electric Welded Pipe

Nikopol Electric Welded Tube Plant Ltd has reported a 50% reduction in electricity consumption following the installation of a new Thermatool 200kW HF solid state induction welder at their production plant in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.
Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Commissioning of the 200kW Thermatool welder was completed by Russian speaking Thermatool service technicians and included installation of Thermaview 2 - A multi-lingual, intelligent welder diagnostics system that gives mill operators and engineers a real-time graphical display of the welder operating conditions.

Another notable feature of the Thermatool CFI (Current Fed Inverter) Welder is the patented AutoMatch™ technology, which provides automatic load impedance matching, ensuring full power is delivered to the load at the selected nominal frequency, minimising power loss, thus leading to increased production efficiency.

Thermatool product manager Mr Wayne Hine adds “The installation of the 200kW induction welder has replaced an old welder at the Nikopol plant which utilised valve/vacuum welding technology. Within 2 weeks of start-up, Mr Sergii Marchenko, owner of the Nikopol plant, has reported a significant decrease in downtime and scrap output, whilst drastically decreasing line electricity consumption by 50%”

Mr Hine continues “This investment in Thermatool’s high frequency solid state welding technology places Nikopol in a great position within both domestic and export markets, we look forward to continue building a strong relationship with Nikopol Electric Welded Tube over the coming years”
