Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Singapore, 19 Nov 2012 Monday - KBA Training Centre (KBAT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Healing Chambers of Asia Sdn Bhd (HCA) to deliver International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) Diver Medic Technician (DMT) courses at HCA’s training facility in Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia. The first course has been scheduled to run on the 15 – 24 December 2012.

KBA Training Centre Pte Ltd is the leading IMCA approved training provider in the South East Asia region. The IMCA Approved Diver Medic Technician Course provides participants with the skills, knowledge and the confidence to administer the Life Support techniques learnt during the training effectively and safely. Attendees will be taught how to assess the casualty promptly and provide resuscitative measures with up to date emergency first aid and medical equipment as well as a detailed understanding of diving related illnesses.

This course has been developed to train offshore divers to be a competent Advanced First Aider / medics as outlined by IMCA and Diving Medical Advisory Committee (DMAC) guidance documents and requirements, while on successful completion and passing the course examinations the attendees will be awarded with IMCA approved DMT certification that is recognised internationally by the offshore commercial diving industry.

KBAT’s DMT training upholds IMCA course curriculum and standards and provides a robust foundation of practical drills/ scenarios and theory for personnel to develop their competence in this specialised area of emergency management.

HCA has the expertise and facilities in providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy and they proven to be the ideal working partner with the capability that is align with KBAT. With the new alliance, it reinforces our beliefs of delivering quality training to our students”, said Mr. Darren Brunton, Managing Director of KBAT.

KBAT are always at the frontier of working with potential business partners. Besides the new training location in Malaysia, KBAT has been delivering DMT/DMTR in New Delhi – India and Singapore with its headquarters in Singapore. KBAT’s in-company training has also proved very popular. There will be in-house training for major IMCA diving contractors in both UAE and Saudi Arabia in the upcoming weeks.
