James Sudakow latest project "There Is No Sound in Space" is now available

Nov. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- James Sudakow is a 3rd generation violin player.  He was classically trained at the age of four and took the violin into the area of progressive rock.  Musicians that have influenced him are John McGlaughlin, Jeff Beck, Dave Navarro, Vernon Reid, and Jimi Hendrix.  James wanted to change the nature of the sound of the violin and bring it to heights that challenged its very construction, pushing it to the limit.  The violin is the centerpiece of James’ music and as you will see, it has served him very well.

James began in 2007 with his group which was a trio comprised of James on electric violin a drummer and a bass player.  They released their debut CD “Green”.  James had also played in other bands but decided to write and perform his own material leveraging unique approaches to the electric violin in an all-instrumental setting.

His style of writing is composed of many genres’ including progressive rock, alternative rock, industrial electronic, jazz and fusion.   James Sudakow toured and had played shows in Los Angeles where they have received great reviews.  It was at that point when they decided to begin working on their second project titled “There Is No Sound In Space”.

James’ lead single “When I Am King” is off this latest CD.  “This title is meant to reflect the dark side of human nature and the quest for power that many find themselves in”, states James. This single carries a dark melodic tone enhanced by incredible electronic sounds.  It has a simple core melody yet is complex in its overall fusion and recording of its outer layers.  This song is a thrill to the senses.  It is a lesson in how sound fusion can change the overall effect of a song.  It takes immense talent to achieve this type of sound.  

“There Is No Sound in Space” carries distorted electric violin melodies and it is a driving force and the core element behind his music.  Song after song, each carrying its own identity, it delivers a powerful interaction between what you hear and what you feel.
