Throughout the day, parents and children met the author, played games, experienced "The Dooples" through various multi-media presentations and were entertained by a variety of guest readers, including the Mayor of the City of Asbury Park, Ed Johnson. The event was sponsored to benefit Autism Speaks of dnveq New Jersey. Additionally, in response to the devastation wrought to the area by Hurricane Sandy, Dr. Hunter donated several cases of her books to the children of Monmouth County. "The Dooples" is providing a valuable way for families to enjoy reading books and staying safe as they cope with difficult times.
