Follow on Google News | One of “England’s finest Tea Rooms” is found in LangportNominated by customers, The Potting Shed in Langport is delighted to have come to the attention of “This England” magazine.
By: The Potting Shed Located on the site of the Victorian Peony growers Kelways, this traditional tea rooms offers the best of local foods and home cooking in a glorious setting. The wide selection of home-made cakes, teacakes and award winning scones are irresistible, and a wide variety of gluten free produce is also stocked. Where possible the produce, food and drink is locally produced and sourced. The judges were looking for tea rooms that were traditional and offered excellent quality and entries for this award came from across the globe, but only 9 tea rooms received an award. The Potting Shed was delighted to be amongst them. A special mention went to their "fine home cooking". This is not the first occasion that the friendly service and excellent cakes have picked up an award. A well-known stop for hungry cyclists, The Potting Shed was also recognised by Cycle Somerset as “Coffee Stop of the Year” in 2011. Whilst The Potting Shed is a traditional Tea Room, it also hosts exhibitions and events such as classic car meets or jewellery workshops and business meetings. Coming up on the 30th November, The Potting Shed will be holding a Christmas Fair from 10.30am - 2.30pm with gifts, treats, crafts, decorations, furnishings and lovely things to brighten a Christmas home for sale. Funds are being raised for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and one stall holders is giving their entire takings to this excellent cause.
