(West Palm Beach, Fla.---) Television personalities, philanthropists, authors and friends all gathered at the hip Asian Concept, Fuku Restaurant for a Veteran’s Day celebration fundraiser for the West Palm Beach Chapter of Friends of the Fisher House, on Tuesday, November 13th, 2012. Highlights of the event were the personal appearances of Jewelry designer Cristiana Shields and internationally known photographer and contemporary media artist Javier Bohorquez. Guests raved at the chance to mingle with the talented artist/designers who donated items to the much anticipated raffle: a unique singled-cord necklace adorned with a semiprecious stone titled “It Is Meant to Be” by Cristiana Shields of Shields Jewelry; and the 24” x 36” ‘Crocus Flower’ an original Jabo Gallery piece by Javier Bohorquez. Tom Bishop stopped traffic with display of his authentic, restored army truck in front of Fuku for the occasion. Bishop won the Jupiter Ritz-Carlton Golf Club “Foursome of Golf” valued at $1,000. Other raffle items included a gift certificate to Fuku Restaurant; a 24-karat gold dipped sand dollar necklace by Sasha Lickle Designs; complimentary Crystal Healing and Meditation session with Psychic Visions by Ava. The host committee included local movers and shakers Craig Agranoff and Herb Tabin (CBS Tech Correspondents) About the Fisher House The Friends of Fisher House is a local non-profit 501 (c) (3) established in 1998 to support the various needs of the West Palm Beach VA Fisher House. The Fisher House provides a home away from home for Veterans’ families to be close to their loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease, or injury, by reducing or eliminating the cost of lodging. The West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center Fisher House is centrally located on the Medical Center Campus. A two-story building built in 1995 with eight rooms, Fisher House can accommodate up to 16 guests. It is a home-like setting with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and living room with DVD and book libraries. All rooms offer flat screen televisions, laptops and wireless internet access.
