Theatrix USA Acquires Production Rights to Controversial Play by Mike Broemmel

Nov. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Theatrix USA announced today that it had obtained an exclusive option to.produce a stage play entitled "The Baptism" by Mike Broemmel. The play is based on a short story by Mike Broemmel of the same name he penned about eight years ago. Broemmel wrote "The Baptism" in 2011. According to Theatrix USA, the company plans to bring the play to the stage in about a dozen US cities in 2014 and a similar number of locales the following year. Theatrix USA noted that "The Baptism" by Mike Broemmel represents the.most controversial work the production company has staged in its nearly 20 year history. When the short story on which the play is based first hit the scene, several magazines shied away from publishing the piece by the critically acclaimed Mike Broemmel out of fear over the potential repercussions of doing so. Mike Broemmel stated that this was the first time he experienced this type of censorship, an experience that motivated his creation of the play.
