-- Ms Lankova was born and raised in the Czech Republic and started dressing up her dolls with outfits she made herself when she was six years old. A few years later she knew she wanted to continue her hobby by attending the Textile and Manufacture School of Design. The first time she saw really stylish fashions was when she left her village of only 300 people and moved to London. To this day you still see the reflection and elements of that time in her designs. 11 years ago she ended up by coincidence in Aspen. Love for adventure and seeing new places brought her there more out of curiosity, but she ended up staying for 6 years and got her Bachelors Degree in Business Management. During that time she went back to one of her passions and started skiing again, which led her to designing skiwear. All her decisions up to that moment were based on curiosity, but when she moved to NY 5 years ago, that was no longer a coincidence or curiosity but a conscious plan to come here and become a name in fashion. When the recession hit and things got very challenging she embraced her spiritual side and lived more than ever in the present moment to deal with everyday of NY’s challenges. During those difficult times, she created some of her trademark designs, such as STEE-LETAS® legwear, which gave her an entry to a class of DENYC (Design Entrepreneurs)
at FIT this year. Every city she has lived in has given her a new skill, in Aspen it was all about skiwear, here in NY it was all about learning to work with spandex. Each place was significant and very inspirational. She has returned to London many times since, still spending significant time in Aspen and in love with NY, which she considers her home.
Now she'll share her home with Sissy this Friday night on The Sissy Gamache Show LIVE 7:30pm EST on MNN Channel 56 Time Warner Cable Manhattan and on our website www.thesissygamacheshow.com
