Nov. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- September 25th, 2012 – South Jordan, Utah – DAI, Utah’s Foremost Land Developer, recently broke ground on a large-scale, master-planned community named Independence at the Point (http://www.independenceatthepoint.com/). The project is located at the point of the mountain in Bluffdale, Utah just south of 14600 South and 500 West. The development is one of the last parcels situated between Utah County and Salt Lake County. The community spans 294 acres and will consist of approximately 1,900 housing units including single-family homes, townhomes and apartments. It also includes 27 acres of commercial space.

Independenceat the Point (http://www.independenceatthepoint.com/) features multiple new parks and a trail system. DAI has worked closely with Bluffdale City to ensure that the project's amenities match the needs of future residents and surrounding communities. The project focuses on American patriotism and features street names, park names and monuments named after America's values and ideals. For example you may find yourself driving along ‘America Blvd’ or ‘Freedom Point Drive’.

This is the first time Bluffdale City has been able to offer this variety of housing all in one place. The project will include: single-family homes, townhomes and apartments. In the past, Bluffdale city has primarily zoned for large, single-family lots. In December of 2004, the city council passed a new zoning ordinance that allowed this community to take shape. This will likely bring a new sense of diversity among socio-economic status. Being placed near the freeway, this community will be convenient for commuters and will not affect the core of Bluffdale City. The project will make the Porter Rockwell Boulevard extension possible. The Porter Rockwell Boulevard will tie Interstate-15 in Bluffdale on to Redwood Road through Independence.

The development is headed by DAI, one of Utah's largest land developers over the past 22 years.  DAI has completed projects in 26 municipalities & 6 counties and has developed single-family, multi-family ,mixed-use, retail and office projects. The principles:  Milt Shipp, Bryan Flamm, Nate Shipp and Joe Salisbury have combined their talents and wide range of experience to create a development company known for expertise and integrity. “We are excited to break ground on Independenceat the Point (http://www.independenceatthepoint.com/).  We have spent considerable time master-planning the property and have worked diligently to ensure that the amenities and features of the project meet the needs of the surrounding area." said DAI partner, Nate Shipp. Another partner, Bryan Flamm, explained more, "We have worked closely with city leaders & planners to ensure the best use of land. We're confident that the residents of Independence at the Point will love what the project offers and will take pride in their new neighborhood.  We have worked hard to build more than just subdivision - Independence will truly be a community that residents will be proud of."

DAI plans to sell building lots to multiple builders, including Alpine Homes, Cadence Homes, Candlelight Homes, DR Horton and LaPorte Group. Builders plan to begin selling homes in November 2012. Pricing for Independence at the Point is anticipated to start under $200,000. They will be holding a Pre-Sale Event on November 29, 2012. The event is by invitation only.
