– South Jordan, Utah – DAI, Utah’s Foremost Land Developer, recently broke ground on a large-scale, master-planned community named Independence at the Point (http://www.independenceatthepoint.com/)
. The project is located at the point of the mountain in Bluffdale, Utah just south of 14600 South and 500 West. The development is one of the last parcels situated between Utah County and Salt Lake County. The community spans 294 acres and will consist of approximately 1,900 housing units including single-family homes, townhomes and apartments. features multiple new parks and a trail system. DAI has worked closely with Bluffdale City to ensure that the project's amenities match the needs of future residents and surrounding communities. The project focuses on American patriotism and features street names, park names and monuments named after America's values and ideals. For example you may find yourself driving along ‘America Blvd’ or ‘Freedom Point Drive’.
This is the first time Bluffdale City has been able to offer this variety of housing all in one place. The project will include: single-family homes, townhomes and apartments. In the past, Bluffdale city has primarily zoned for large, single-family lots. In December of 2004, the city council passed a new zoning ordinance that allowed this community to take shape. This will likely bring a new sense of diversity among socio-economic status. Being placed near the freeway, this community will be convenient for commuters and will not affect the core of Bluffdale City. The project will make the Porter Rockwell Boulevard extension possible. The Porter Rockwell Boulevard will tie Interstate-15 in Bluffdale on to Redwood Road through Independence.
