ISHM’s Executive Director to Speak at Rio de Janeiro’s LatAm HSE Conference

On November 29th, professionals involved with health, safety and the environment (HSE) will converge in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the LatAM HSE in Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Conference.  The two day event is taking place at the Sheraton Rio Hotel and Resort.

According to the conference website, “This event will attribute a comprehensive program covering the key topics of health, safety, environment and HSE management, featuring components such as panel and knowledge sharing sessions, which will strike an appropriate balance between emerging industry issues, best practices, and lessons learned.”

One of the conference’s most anticipated speakers is Larry Curtis, CSHM.  Mr. Curtis is the Executive Director of the Institute for Safety and Health Management.  He will be presenting, Personal Certifications: What are the Issues?  He will also be a panelist during an interactive discussion entitled, Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives in the Region – Giving Back to the Community.

In addition to presenting at the event, Mr. Curtis has also been asked to chair the event and is one of six advisors for the conference.  Mr. Curtis’s role with the ISHM, which administers the prestigious Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) certification program and the Associate Safety and Health Manager (ASHM) designation, makes him uniquely qualified to present and participate at this important conference.
