John Doherty Takes The Helm At ESPO
John Doherty has been appointed Director of ESPO, one of the UK's largest public sector buying organisations
John Doherty has over 20 years of industry experience at board level and joins direct from Advantage West Midlands where he was Corporate Director – Resources. He was also a board member of Business Link West Midlands.
John started his career in 1991 after graduating from Loughborough University with a BA Hons degree in Accountancy and Financial Management. He first joining Ernst and Young to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and subsequently held a variety of senior finance and operational roles including Head of Finance at Boots the Chemist and Director of Sales, Service and Development at WFS Ltd.
“With experience of managing sizeable commercial operations in both the public and private sectors, my mission is to build on ESPO’s reputation for delivering value for money and exceptional customer service,” commented John Doherty. “ESPO has a major role to play in helping the public sector to meet the increasing pressure to save money whilst delivering high levels of services.”
John Doherty is married with children and lives in Nottingham. In his spare time he is a regular golfer and often makes trips to visit his family in Ireland.
