There are all types of sources of toxins, even in our favorite foods. “Less obvious sources are found in grease-resistant coatings used in fast food containers, microwave popcorn bags, pizza delivery boxes and pet food bags. Also, printing inks and adhesives in cardboard containers can contain toxins,” she comments. “These can leach perfluorochemicals or PFC's, which have been linked to smaller birth weights, elevated cholesterol, abnormal thyroid hormone levels, liver inflammation and weakened immune systems.”
