Nov. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Nov. 8, 2012 - New York, NY – Financial Technologies Forum (FTF), provider of executive level conferences to senior operations professionals and publisher of FTF News, a free online news service featuring in-depth coverage of securities operation and financial IT management issues, is pleased to announce that CFTC commissioner Bart Chilton will be delivering the afternoon keynote address at FTF’s 7th Annual Derivatives Operations & Processing Conference (http://www.ftfnews.com/2012_7th_Annual_OTC_Derivatives_Ops_Processing) in New York City at the Sentry Centers on Nov. 14, 2012.

Commissioner Chilton’s address will focus on the current state of OTC regulation and the “importance of appropriate regulation with regard to over-the-counter (OTC) swaps.” Earlier this week, FTF News editor, Eugene Grygo, caught up with the commissioner in a Q&A regarding his thoughts on how the recent U.S. presidential election might affect the progress of Dodd-Frank regulatory reforms, including the overhaul for over-the-counter (OTC) swaps.

Chilton has had nearly three decades of high-level experience in the U.S. federal government. He has worked on Capitol Hill in the House of Representatives, in the Senate, and has served in the executive branch during the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations. He joined the CFTC in 2007 after he was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U. S. Senate. He was re-nominated in 2009 by President Barack Obama and re-confirmed by the Senate.

In addition to commissioner Chilton, FTF has secured an impressive line-up of industry experts to speak at the event.

The first keynote address of the event in the morning will be delivered by Clifford Lewis, executive vice president and head of State Street's eExchange Business.

Other highlighted speakers include John W. McPartland, senior policy advisor for the financial markets group of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; David Olsen, global head of OTC clearing, J.P. Morgan; James Wallin, senior vice president from AllianceBernstein; Jason Swankoski, executive director, OTC derivatives clearing at Morgan Stanley; Carolyn Mitchell, first vice president, business development at the Options Clearing Corp., (OCC); Camillo D'Orazio, vice president at Delaware Investments; Neil Monaghan, director, global head of futures & OTC clearing strategic business initiatives at Citi; and Ila Eckhoff, managing director for BlackRock.
