Bridgeport Village in Second Year of Unique High School Football Sponsorship

Nov. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Bridgeport Village, Portland’s premier shopping and dining destination, is in the second year of a sponsorship program with local-area high schools.

Bridgeport’s marketing team set a goal in 2011 to be a partner with schools in the area   They also wanted to devise a promotion that would be fun and create energy at games as well as create a viral “buzz”.  The “Bridgeport Village Halftime Field goal Kick” was born.  

The program was very popular last year and this year Bridgeport included two additional schools into the program.  The promotion can be seen as part of the halftime festivities at West Linn, Jesuit, Lakeridge, Wilson and Horizon Christian home football games.  One lucky fan is selected to kick a 10 yard field goal at halftime.  Each participant selected gets two movie tickets from Bridgeport Regal Cinemas and a $20 Joe’s burger’s gift card.  If the participant successfully kicks the field goal, they are also awarded a $100 gift card from Bridgeport.

In addition to the prizes, video of all successful kicks is uploaded to the Bridgeport Village facebook page.

Bridgeport makes a financial donation to each school and provides prizes for the contest.  “Athletics’ are such a big part of our community, and so many are struggling and we wanted to help, “ said Sarah Sumpter, Marketing Manager for Bridgeport Village.  “Friday night lights are a big event in our community and we are pleased to be a part.”

“The halftime kick promotion has been very popular”, said Chris Reid of the Wilson Trojan Touchdown Club, a parent support organization that seeks sponsorship for the school’s football program.  “We are very thankful to be included in the sponsorship.”
