Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Dallas, Texas -- The anonymoUS initiative is a non-profit anti-bullying organization that helps people overcome a bully that is rarely discussed -- the bully that lives inside of all of us. The initiative aims to help people "come out" and "overcome" their inner-bully through art and activism; and this fall, the group has released a book and music compilation CD to raise money for anti-bullying organizations across the United States. The Dallas launch of the book and CD will be held on Sunday, November 11th with festivities that include a live theatrical performance, music concert, and book signing at the Angelika Plano in The Shops of Legacy.

About the Anonymous Initiative: What began as a letter-writing campaign in Midwest high schools for bullied gay teens has flourished into an artistic movement dedicated to helping people of all ages, races, orientations, and demographics. Within a year, the anonymoUS initiative and its creative director (filmmaker and equal rights activist Michael Anthony) have received over 2,200 letters from people around the country, including Dallas. These letters make up the anthology of anonymoUS  -- a colorful 70-page coffee table containing 99 clandestine confessions about the ways we bully ourselves, as told through art, poetry, emails, journal entries and short stories. All net profits from the sale of this book are donated to anti-bullying causes throughout Texas, as well as the entire country.

Released in conjunction with the book is a musical soundtrack also inspired by the letters, anonymUSe: mUSical mUSingsabout the ways we bully ourselves. The CD debuted at number 38 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts in September of 2012 and features four Dallas native talents.

Dallas native singer/songwriter Mona Chatterjee, whose dance hit Move with Me claimed a #2 spot on MTV’s LOGO network in 2007, has returned to the music scene in support of this cause; her single Not Just a Princess is included on the soundtrack.

“The song represents the sentiment that we all want to love and be loved, no matter who we are and where we come from” says Chatterjee.

Also featured on the soundtrack is Beautiful Addiction, a song by Dallas local and acclaimed motivational speaker, DeDe Murcer Moffet. She is the founder of the Snap Out of It! Radio Network; her show has been heard by hundreds of thousands of listeners over the past 5 years.

About the Event: The event will include music from DeDe Murcer Moffet, a presentation from Michael Anthony, a reading from award-winning Dallas writer Paula Felps and a concert by Mona Chatterjee, all in support of the book and CD release. A reception with refreshments, and book and CD signing is scheduled to follow the event. Admission to the event is free; and all attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase a tax-deductible book ($15) or CD ($12) or non-profit package ($25).

The anonymoUS initiative offers free workshops for high schools, support groups and addiction/recovery centers across the country. A feature-length documentary based on this program is scheduled for national release in mid-2013. More information on the book, soundtrack and initiative are available at:
