The show features a variety of interviews with Anderson Center for Autism staff and community members along with a listener question-and- Anderson Center for Autism was inspired to create this exclusive radio program by New York state autism insurance reform, which went into effect Nov. 1. Chief Operating Officer of Anderson Center for Autism Patrick Paul noted: “The new autism legislation in New York state is very good news for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Andrew Cuomo signed a law requiring health insurance providers to offer coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This includes coverage of evidence-based, medically necessary autism services that are prescribed, provided or ordered by a licensed physician or licensed psychologist. The law went into effect Nov. 1, opening the door for families to obtain services that were not previously covered. New York is the 29th state in the country to enact such legislation.
