Follow on Google News | Local Firms Link 51 And Mann+hummel Work Together To Design Optimum Warehouse FacilityAutomotive giant Mann+Hummel has opened a new state-of-the-art distribution facility, near Wolverhampton, using the expertise of Telford’s Link 51, the UK's largest manufacturer of pallet racking systems, shelving and lockers.
By: Link Lockers In designing the new distribution facility Mann+Hummel have adopted best practice principles, particularly in the layout of the warehouse and the design, configuration and installation of the racking solution. This was supported by Link 51, who following a rigorous selection procedure was selected as the preferred partner for the installation, bringing their 60 years of experience to Mann+Hummel’ Being ‘neighbours’ “Having storage specialists Link 51 on our doorstep was a major plus,” he explained. “We had advice and direction from the outset and by being in close proximity to each other, we quickly developed a good working relationship.” Link 51 designed and installed 142 bays, which consisted of 6,300 pallet locations, and constructed a tiered mezzanine structure designed to accommodate an additional tier if required in the future. A secure cage was also installed inside the warehouse for high value goods. In addition, Link 51 supplied all the personal storage lockers for the staff rooms. Mr Ingram added: “The racking installation went according to plan and was delivered on schedule. Link 51 worked well with other suppliers and there were no delays from the confirmation of the order through to completion. We are very satisfied with both the product and the high levels of service.” Local racking expert Tony Crowe from Link 51 added: “Distributions centres on the huge scale of Mann+Hummel’ Mann+Hummel employ more than 14,500 people across 50 locations globally. <Ends> End
