Faraway Furniture reach their goal of planting 1000 oak trees in Hertfordshire

Faraway Furniture, under UNEP supervision has completed the planting of just over 1000 native UK oak trees across Hertfordhire

Nov. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Faraway Furniture under UNEP supervision has completed the planting of just over 1000 native UK oak trees across Hertfordshire. As part of its commitment to environmental and educational issues, Faraway Furniture joined 10 local schools in Hertfordshire to plant over 1000 native British Oak trees across Hertfordshire. Faraway has now committed to doubling this figure for 2013. Each selected child has planted one sapling on private farmlands across the county.

After the success of this year’s planting project, http://www.farawaygardenfurniture.co.uk are now looking to expand this activity across the UK. Apart from the environmental benefits, the planting project also taught children about wildlife and tree planting and about the important role they play in our ecosystem. Each child had to submit a 500 word report on why they would like to plant a tree under this campaign and all of the winning entries will be published on Faraway Furniture’s website. Mr Eliby of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) was there at the final tree planting ceremony to certificate this brilliant achievement and will co-ordinate the 2013 project where Faraway will attempt at least 2000 trees across the UK.
