-- After years of struggling to find a publisher, Bernstein entered TRAPPED in TAG Publisher's "Next Great American Novel" contest, where he was a winner. Editor Dee Burks and her staff fell in love with this unique story of love, disillusionment, terror and revenge, and with some editing suggestions that Bernstein embraced, TRAPPED was published in soft cover in mid-October. The Kindle version will be available the 2nd week of November.
Asked about the development of the story idea, Bernstein confided the idea of a woman trapped in "Locked-in Syndrome" came from a neighbor, many years ago, who suffered an anesthetic accident during relatively minor surgery, ending up in a coma. TRAPPED, started over 20 years ago, has changed and grown numerous times through edits and rewrites as Bernstein developed his craft. Always a gifted writer, he attended seminars and conferences to better learn what makes good fiction. In the process, he's developed a substantial talent and unique voice. As a "World-Class"
fly-fisherman and holder of 12 World Records, his aim is "...to hook the reader, and not let him wiggle free until the end."
Bernstein, the retired president of a small, publicly-held company, lives in south Florida. He is the author of 3 other soon-to-be published novels, and a non-fiction book, TOOTHY CRITTERS LOVE FLIES, the definative work on fly-fishing for pike & musky.
