Aries Apparel Selected to Participate in American Express “Small Business Saturday”
Local small business retail success story, Aries Apparel, will be a highlighted participant in the 3rd annual “Small Business Saturday”. This year’s event will take place on Saturday November 24th, 2012.
In 2011, 100 million people came together to shop in their communities supporting local small businesses. The concept behind the movement is to highlight the importance of small businesses and what they bring to the economy. Local stores like Aries Apparel create local jobs for the Oregon economy as well as boosting the economy and preserve their local neighborhoods. Small businesses have generated two out of every three net new jobs over the past 15 years and employ over half of all private sector employees.
“We are pleased to be a part of such an important day. Since we are a small business, it’s not our biggest day sales-wise, but the symbolism of the day is so important to small businesses such as ours. Anyone who has launched a small business knows how much risk and effort it takes and support from the local community really is vital for businesses like ours. Small businesses are so innovative and customer service driven. We really are able to offer a level of service and unique localized product that big national retailers cannot,” said Diana Marsden, owner of Aries Apparel.
American Express has launched a radio campaign on many area radio stations in the Portland area and Marsden will be featured in a portion of the advertisements.
Locally owned and operated, the original Aries Apparel is located at 1890 NW 188th Avenue in Hillsboro near Tanasbourne. The company also opened its second store recently at Clackamas Town Center.
