Art Show & Sale - JOURNEY WITHIN, by Maha Takiyyuddin & Sarah Phelps

A joint exhibit by visual artists MAHA TAKIYYUDDIN and SARAH PHELPS -- Friday December 7th, 6pm. Origo Books Gallery, Downtown Toronto.

Nov. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Origo Books Gallery is proud to showcase a selection of paintings by local visual artists MAHA TAKIYYUDDIN and SARAH PHELPS.

For MAHA, painting is a way to connect with her Inner Self in a liberating and expressive way. Her palette, always full of vibrant colours, is different every time depending on her feelings and emotional state right at the moment. Starting with the colour that speaks to her the most, she follows her heart desires in the Now and enjoys going with the flow wherever it takes her, in an uncensored dialogue between Body and Soul.

SARAH's work is an evolution of spirit, always changing and evolving, open for interpretation of any kind. Building up texture, combining eye-catching and soul-stirring colours, her art is the message it carries: Evolve, Create, Share. Diversity is key for SARAH, a self-declared minimalist with a colourful twist and organic flare who thrives on inspiring and motivating others, drawing inspiration from everyone and everything. Each piece tells a story that is created by the viewer, from his/her past experiences, present emotions, and future unknowings.

MAHA TAKIYYUDDIN studied with wonderful teachers at the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Toronto School of Arts. A visual artist since childhood, she has exhibited her work at several galleries in Ontario and abroad —The Papermill Gallery, Heliconian Club, Gallery Hittite, Edwards Garden in Toronto; Mill Pond Gallery, Richvale Library in Richmond Hill; and International Art Center in Dubai, UAE.

SARAH PHELPS visual gifts started at a very young age through drawing, painting and sculpting. She followed her love for nature and pursued a career in Wildlife Biology for over 10 years, allowing her environmental experiences to fuel and flow through her artistic creativity. Able to express her talents equally through art classes and exhibits at local galleries, SARAH also perused a career educating and coaching others towards a healthy body, mind, and spirit.

JOURNEY WITHIN art show & sale will continue until Saturday December 29th, 2012. Located at the store's mezzanine, the Origo Books Gallery is open Monday to Friday, 11:30am to 5:30pm.

Opening date: Friday December 7th, 2012 at 6:00pm.
