Follow on Google News | Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog's Wilmington Office Receives Employer of the Year AwardThe Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP was recognized as the 2012 Employer of the Year for hiring practices of people with disabilities.
CSH employee Adrianne Ballard was also recognized at the event. Ballard was one of four nominees to be awarded the 2012 Employee of the Year. She began with the firm as an intern and is now a full-time administrative assistant. “We are honored to receive this award and we are very proud of Adrianne and all her accomplishments,” CSH received this award after being selected by the Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities. The Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities and the local Vocational Rehabilitation office has hosted an awards ceremony for employers who hire those with disabilities and their outstanding employees for the past five years. This awards ceremony is held in conjunction with national Disability Awareness Month as well as Disability Employment Awareness Month as designated by Congress. The theme for 2012, as designated by the Office of Disability Employment Policy, was “A Strong Workforce is an Inclusive workforce: What can YOU do?” The theme promotes the benefits of a diverse workforce that includes workers with disabilities, who represent a highly skilled talent pool.
