Elvis Presley Enterprises Announces Sale Date For “Aloha From Hawaii” 40th Anniversary Screening

Enhanced screening of “Aloha from Hawaii” to take place 40 years to the day in the same arena as Elvis’ original ground breaking performance. Screening is part of five-day anniversary celebration.
 
Nov. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- MEMPHIS, TN – Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. announces today that tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, November 2, for the Elvis Presley Aloha from Hawaii 40th Anniversary Screening. The enhanced screening will take place at the Neal Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Monday, January 14, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are $35 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster and Ticketmaster.com.  The screening is part of a five-day anniversary celebration.

This experience will feature incredible re-mastered video projected on multiple screens with audio presented in Dolby 5.1 surround sound. The original performance has been edited to re-create the excitement of being there in-person 40 years ago and will include special footage filmed exclusively for this event.

“Aloha from Hawaii” was beamed live via satellite and seen in over 40 countries by close to 1.5 billion people. It is regarded as the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history.

Fans gathering from around the world in Honolulu in January 2013 for Elvis Presley’s Aloha from Hawaii, the 40th Anniversary Celebration (http://www.elvis.com/aloha), will have the unique opportunity to follow in the king’s footsteps and spend time exploring Elvis’ Hawaii.

Included during the celebration will be concerts, dance events and panel discussions featuring musicians and actors who performed with Elvis, special receptions and tours of many of the Hawaiian locations important to Elvis throughout his life.  From Diamond Head and Hanauma Bay, featured prominently as the backdrops of “Blue Hawaii (http://www.shopelvis.com/Product.aspx?cp=796_11143_11186&...)” and “Paradise, Hawaiian Style (http://www.shopelvis.com/Product.aspx?cp=796_11143_11186&...)” to an excursion along the island’s windward side, guests will explore Elvis’ Hawaii while celebrating his life and legacy.

According to friends and family, Elvis’ fundraiser for the building of the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor (http://www.ussarizona.org/) was one of his favorite memories. Elvis fans taking this once-in-a-lifetime journey will take a special tour of the Memorial and attend a screening of a new mini-documentary that explores the concert in 1961, revealing details not shared until now.

Additionally, the first-ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest (http://www.elvis.com/events/ultimate_eta_contest.aspx) preliminary held in Hawaii will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 8 p.m.  This event will be hosted by Legends in Concert Waikiki (http://www.legendsinconcert.com/locations/waikiki/) and will take place at the recently-renovated Royal Hawaiian Theater located at The Royal Hawaiian Center.
