Nov. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Studio RED Architects Designs New Worship Facility for Katy Community Fellowship

Katy Community Fellowship hires Studio RED Architects to design a new 18,000 s.f. worship facility to be completed by August 2013.

In 2011, Studio RED Architects was hired by the Katy Community Fellowship to design their new worship facility. The new 18,000 s.f. worship facility in Katy, Texas is set to be completed by August 2013 and will become their new permanent home to worship, expand the children’s activities center and become a recreational facility for youth.

Katy Community Fellowship currently worships in an AMC 20 movie theater which has limited the expansion and awareness of their fellowship. The new worship facility, designed by the Houston-based architecture firm will open new doors for the fellowship. Studio RED Architects have provided a schematic design for the Katy Community Fellowship that enables the church to hire a design/build contractor to cost-effectively maximize square footage in comparison to the conventional process of design and construction.

The distinguished architecture firm has a history of worship facility design including Air Force Village Chapel, Faithbridge Church, Fellowship of the Woodlands and Fountain of Praise. Each worship facility has a unique design and specific needs that were met by Pete Ed Garrett and his team at Studio RED Architects.

“We are working closely with the Pastor, Tim Barker, and the congregation so we can design a worship facility that not only has a campus feel but promotes learning at all ages. As part of our green initiative at Studio RED Architects, we also planned for the worship site to include a 1 acre prayer garden,” said Pete Ed Garrett, partner at Studio RED Architects.

Studio RED Architects has also acted as project manager, guiding Katy Community Fellowship through the process of design, documents and construction to help facilitate an efficient solution for the client.

“The most striking feature of the new worship facility is the double cross in the glass and wall at the sanctuary space. It will be illuminated at night and is sited on the corner of Kingsland Boulevard for maximum visibility,” Garrett states about the Studio Red Architects design process.
