Oct. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- A skincare collection called BARE® (http://barebodycollection.com/) sounds sexy, and you might be wondering if I'm advocating something sinful.  Perish the thought!  The only thing sinful about these products is the exotic scents and luxurious formulas.  This is a lighthearted tale of a young woman's determination to ride out a stormy economy and come out on top.  Martha Choy’s journey into the highly competitive arena of fashion from her upscale-resale fashion website, Martha’s Closet (http://marthasclosetonline.com/)© and jettisoning right into the beauty industry in less than one year, with her exclusive BARE® fragrance and skin care line, while working full time as an investment bank compliance director on Wall Street, is a story that Martha can tell better than I can.  If you give her a few minutes, her caustic and dry humor will have you in stitches laughing about her travails.  Move over, Chelsea Lately and Bethenny Frankel!  http://youtu.be/aSf4g6UJaZE?hd=1

Five trademarks later (and yes, if you are wondering, Martha does own the word BARE®), and a 280+ product line of exotic scents and luxurious formulas with names like BARE-ly Legal (http://barebodycollection.com/Search.aspx?k=bare-ly+legal)®, BARE®-foot in the Park and a travel collection called BAREfly (http://barebodycollection.com/Search.aspx?k=barefly)®, Martha Choy’s BARE® skincare collection is now being recognized as a rising star in the beauty and skincare universe.

Handmade by Martha Choy in her New York City studio/garden apartment on East 81st Street in New York, Bare-ly Legal® Perfume (http://barebodycollection.com/BARE-Signature-Fragrances-i...) won’t get you arrested, but it will put you in the danger zone of being irresistible.  Hinting of sensual pleasures, the new Bare-ly Legal® Perfume is being introduced by the Bare® Body Collection in its own elegant tear-drop crystal flacon, 1 oz. travel atomizer, frosted glass roll-on bottle and portable, affordable, adorable luxury of a solid perfume which is 100% vegan, alcohol free and not animal tested.  Although Bare-ly Legal® Perfume has all the qualities of a typical feminine fragrance, it exudes an unpredictable aura with its seductive blend of flowers - tuberose, gardenia, taratahi lilac, ylang ylang, orange blossom, jasmine and whisper of coconut.

BARE-ly Legal® body butter 4 oz. arrives, as do the other skincare products, in an amber plastic jar with silver top that looks very simple, but attractive.  But the main attraction is what's inside:  a very hydrating, super-thick and rich cream that smells like tropical flowers and spices:  White Gardenia, Tuberose, Taratahi Lilac, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Orange Blossom, and Black Coconut.   It's a traditional, beeswax and borax body butter that purports to be over 98% natural (ingredients are listed below).  The product is over 50% oil and if your skin is dry, you won't believe how quickly and effectively it works to eliminate every flake and itch and dry patch.  You can definitely use it on even the toughest areas to moisturize, including "rhino-hide" feet, elbows and knees. You only need a tiny bit, and you'll find it is more like solid pomade than a cream.  The added bonus, especially if you use it on your feet and legs, is that the strong, exotic scent wafts up and will even mask (stinky) foot odor. So what is in it?:  Sunflower Seed Oil, Soya Bean Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, De-Ionized Water, Natural Beeswax, Emulsifying Wax NF, Sodium Borate, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Fragrance, Chamomile, Disodium EDTA. Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol.

There is a lighter, creamier version of this product called BARE-ly Legal® Light 4 fl. oz.  I am not sure why it is so much less expensive, but in truth, I prefer the lighter, less oil-centric formula. That's not to say it doesn't moisturize, it just leaves less of a protective film.  The fragrance is slightly lighter and more floral as well, making it more daytime friendly.

I also tried BARE-ly Legal® Luminescence SPF 30 4 oz.  Yes, it's pricey, but it packs a multi-tasking punch with SPF 30, a versatile, body enhancing shimmer, tint, and miniaturization.  The very light cream looks liked cherry whipped cream in the jar,  It is a lighter version of the Bare-ly Legal scented Body Butter, infused with complexion-illuminating mica and a touch of tint to give your skin a sun kissed glow.  In case you're wondering, mica powder comes from minerals and reflects light creates an illusion of a smoother, softer and more radiant skin tone. The scent is lovely: white tuberose blossoms, taratahi lilac, white gardenia and rare blossoms from all over the world.  This sensual product has. Deionized Water, Octyl Palmitate, Grapeseed Oil, jojoba oil, hemp oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Steareth-30, Ceteth-10, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Chamomile, Boswellia Serrata, Tocopherol, Borage Seed Oil, Carbopol, Triethanolamine, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance, Mica, Zinc. If BARE-ly Legal Luminescence doesn't get you to use sun protection, I don't know what product, will!
