Follow on Google News | Legendary Irish poet to perform at Dylan Thomas FestivalLegendary Irish poet Paul Durcan is to perform at the Dylan Thomas Centre on Friday 2 November at 7.30pm.
By: City and County of Swansea Jo Furber, Swansea Council’s Literature Officer said “Paul is regarded by many as the great poet of contemporary Ireland and he is certainly on top form in his latest collection. “There are poems of love lost and won, and in memory of friends and relatives who have passed on. But there is also joy in the birth of a grandson, and praise for the heroism of truckers, air traffic controllers and nurses. “Durcan is an electrifying reader of his work; this certainly is an event not to be missed. Durcan's main published collections include: A Snail in my Prime, Crazy About Women, Greetings to Our Friends in Brazil and Cries of an Irish Caveman. The poet also appeared on the 1990 Van Morrison album Enlightenment and was shortlisted in 2005 for the Poetry Now Award. Tickets are £8 or £5 for concessions. They are available from 01792 463980 or by visiting http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/ End
