Follow on Google News | East Fallowfield Girl Scouts Make a Difference at Township Park Day!!!See how the East Fallowfield Girl Scouts are helping the non-profit organization Enchanted Makeovers to make a difference in the lives of women and children living in long-term homeless shelters!
By: Enchanted Makeovers Peggy is part of the national non-profit organization, Enchanted Makeovers. Their mission is to transform long-term stay homeless shelters for women, mothers, teens and children into places that will inspire behavioral and psychological change. They are working harder than ever to unite communities across the nation to come together to help transform these shelters so that those re-building their lives can do so in a supportive environment. The Sewing Chapters inspire the community to sew, collect and deliver hand-made pillowcases, dolls and "capes for kids" to their local shelters. These items are especially appreciated because each carries with it the love and positive energy of the crafter. Peggy was so delighted when the Fallowfield Girl Scouts wanted to be a part of these projects! The girls got together at a meeting to make bracelets and necklaces they could sell to raise money at Township Park Day. They raised enough money to be able to buy the material and supplies needed to create the special hand-made pillowcases and capes for the children living in a local shelter. They are looking forward to sewing these gifts with their leaders and moms very soon!
