announced today an agreement to offer the “.nooga” TLD to foster the local community of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Work is in progress to encourage local ISPs to make use of ShofarDomain’
s DNS tools to enhance performance and provide their customers access to the new non-IANA top level domain.
The owner of “.nooga” is David Tulis, a former newspaper copy editor, and writer at Nooganomics.com, which explores local economy and free markets for readers in Chattanooga and beyond.
Mr. Tulis commented “I have become a top level domain operator because of my desire to serve people in the Chattanooga area with domains that more strongly identify them by location. I am publisher involved in writing about my local area, and serving my readers and advertisers with the dot Nooga suffix will be a real pleasure. Beyond that, it may also bring me a profit derived in line with my overall goals.”
“.nooga” is scheduled to be live by the end of the year with a focus on small businesses in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. For a small business the ability to pay once for ownership of a domain name rather than the annual rental fee is a noticeable advantage to their bottom line. ShofarDomain is working with many others in the US and overseas to make domain ownership the norm.About ShofarDomain
