The Chedi Muscat creates Macaroon Mania

The basic ingredient is the same everywhere – good almond powder, egg white, sugar and icing sugar. “Simple”
The origins of the humble macaroon lie in France in the Middle Ages. The most popular today is the “Macaroon Parisien” or the “Gerbet”, created in a 19th century pastry shop by sticking two macaroons together with butter cream, chocolate ganache or jam.
Originally made for King Louis XIV of France, the perfect macaroon is a true sign of baking skill and dedication.
With classic favorites at The Chedi Muscat such as Chocolate, Pistachio, Salty Caramel and Rosemary Raspberry, Legros has also created the exotic Al Jabal Al Akhdar Pomegranate, flavoured with Omani pomegranate, White Peach Verbena with white peach jelly and verbena essential oil and Mandarin Sesame – Taina cream with mandarin essential oil.
The Macaroon of the Month features Al Jabal Al Akhdhar Walnut Macaroon (October);Nizwa Halva Macaroon (November); and Samayil Al Safarjal Macaroon (Omani big sweet lemon) (December) – all using local flavours and carefully created by Legros and his team.
Macaroons can be purchased from The Chedi Muscat individually, by the box, or enjoyed as a dessert.
