Hyderabad, 27th October, 2012: ADP Private Limited, a subsidiary of ADP Inc., today organized the finals of the fifth edition of ADP Cricket Tournament at RRC Grounds, Secunderabad.
Every year ADP Private Limited brings home the cricket fever for its associates by organizing this tournament which is one of the most eagerly awaited events in the year for its 5,000+ associates in Hyderabad. Apart from the participating teams, cheering groups from the company also enjoy encouraging their coveted teams. The participation has grown tremendously in the last four years as this year’s tournament witnessed participation of over 1,200 associates in the first edition of this tournament.
In order to make the tournament more interesting, a twist to the regular cricketing rules were applied. A unique feature of the tournament was that each team should have at least one woman associate who would bat in the first over and also bowl the first over in each inning. The aim to have such a rule was to enhance the interests of women players and encourage them to participate actively in the matches. As a result, the participation of women associates has increased to 120 women players in this fifth edition.
This year, the tournament also witnessed interesting team names such as Biryani-11 Reloaded, Gabbar Singh ke Fauziyo, Autopay Claws, BrainLess XI, 11 Musketeers, Gang of Wasseypur, Dream Destroyers and Cricket Zaade that locked horns for the coveted trophy. A total of 104 matches were played in this 7 week long tournament. The semifinals were played between ROC & Killer Dealers and Young Wave & WFN Designated Drinkers and the finals were played between Young Wave and ROC wherein ROC emerged as champions by winning the match by 8 Wickets.
Mr. Shakti Sagar, Managing Director, ADP Pvt. Limited commented, “Since Cricket has always been in the heart and soul of every Indian, we wanted our associates to experience how it feels to participate in a ‘real’ tournament at the Grounds. That’s how the concept of this tournament originated which has now become a legacy for every ADP associate in India”.
ADP Private Limited is committed to being an Employer of Choice and has been organizing several creative workshops over the years for our associates and their families to create a Home Away from Home atmosphere. In the past, ADP has organized workshops like Self Defense techniques for women, Theatre, Photography, Meditation, etc to name a few which received great response from all the participants.
