Oct. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- St. Louis, Missouri...Midwest Hispanics for Romney, a rally group created by Hispanic-American business and community leaders in St. Louis, has organized a four-state, grassroots initiative by more than 200 Hispanic-Americans, non-Hispanics and other ethnic groups that will convene in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, October 27 to support Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's race for the Presidency.  The four states represented are Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa.

Midwest Hispanics for Romney will conduct a rally/fiesta for Romney supporters from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at La Hacienda on 900 East Army Post Road in Des Moines.

Jalesia F. McQueen, founder and co-owner of the law firm McQueen-Awad, LLC, is co-organizing the rally trip as a co-chair of Midwest Hispanics for Romney. McQueen said, “The Midwest Hispanics for Romney Rally in Iowa is an opportunity for Hispanic Americans from across the Midwest to enthusiastically express our support for the Presidential ticket we believe will best serve the interests of our nation.

“The Latino vote is incredibly important for Governor. Romney. A substantial portion of that vote ‘belongs’ to him.  We chose Iowa for this rally because it is a swing state.  Unlike what President Obama believes, not all Hispanics will vote Democrat,” McQueen said.

McQueen added, “Hispanic-Americans have been hit particularly hard hit during the last four years of economic recession. This is reflected in some of the highest poverty and unemployment rates of all demographics. This rally will present a united voice among Hispanic-Americans favoring the Romney-Ryan programs that we believe will create an economic climate that will benefit Hispanic-Americans – and all Americans.

“Hispanic-Americans have strong family values and understand the value of a hard day's work, and these values align with Mitt Romney’s Republican ideals,” McQueen added.  “We do not believe that the federal government should be wastefully spending our hard-earned money.”

National media spotlights are expected to shine on the Midwest Hispanics for Romney Rally in Des Moines because of the importance of the Latino vote in this Presidential election. Speakers will include Leonardo Cabrera, a Cuban-American who was imprisoned in a Cuban prison for his religious beliefs; Al Kamp, a former official with the Ronald Reagan administration; Zoe Soto-Gilbert, who is former Miss Latin USA and former Univision television anchor, and other VIPs.

McQueen said, “Although the Hispanic population in the Midwest is sometimes overlooked nationally, we comprise an important voting bloc. Just like other residents of the Midwest, we possess the strong, American values shared by people across the United States.”
