Portland-based #ProjectLookUp launches new Instagram account
Weekly photo challenge features best user-submitted photos @ProjectLookUp on Instagram
PORTLAND, Ore. – Today, popular photo project with a mission, #ProjectLookUp, joins Instagram under the handle, @ProjectLookUp. In addition to welcoming a new social network to the lineup, founder, Andrew Grossman, announces a weekly challenge to the community.
“I didn’t create the new Instagram to post pictures by @ProjectLookUp – I created it to highlight the top photo submissions from this awesome, growing community,” says Grossman. “There’s something about the competition that makes it even more fun to share photos. I want people to work for that weekly ‘top spot’ on Instagram.”
The photo community first appeared on Instagram with the hashtag, #ProjectLookUp – it quickly spread to Facebook and Twitter by user request. “I never expected that this would grow from a little project to a real social movement,” says Grossman.
Adding a new social network represents one of many recent landmarks for the Portland-based photo project. Recently, Grossman’s concept received broadcast news coverage on two local stations, which helped the project to exceed over 1,000 user-submitted photos.
People interested in submitting a photo can visit ProjectLookUp on Facebook, Twitter, and now, Instagram. Featured photos will pull from every network, so users can continue to submit pictures to preferred social networks.
