Oct. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA – Orhea, the Philadelphia area’s first gift-giving website focused exclusively on health and wellness services, launches in November with a lineup of regional providers offering everything from spa services to yoga and fitness to healthy food choices.

Orhea’s goal is to connect great wellness providers with wellness-minded consumers and establish long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.  This allows Orhea to offer exclusive deals not found on any of the daily-deal websites.  Unlike those sites, the deals found on Orhea are open-ended, and won’t expire when a certain number have been purchased.  The site is launching with nearly 100 vendors, and new ones are being added each week.  

“With uncertainty surrounding the future of healthcare, and increased stress and other factors affecting our well-being, people are increasingly turning to healthy, organic products and fun, preventative activities that promote good health and fitness,” says Paul Tenberg, Orhea’s founder and CEO.  “By consolidating these products and services in one location, consumers can easily give the gift of wellness, saving valuable time spent driving around, wandering the mall or searching the Web for that perfect gift.  This promotes healthy habits in the greater Philadelphia region, while supporting small business and creating jobs in the area.”

Visitors to www.orhea.com get a menu of companies and individuals that have been pre-screened by Orhea for quality, reliability and longevity.  They can browse services by category, vendor name or price range, then simply choose the offer they want to give.  People can also give Orhea Gift Cards which can be printed, e-mailed to the recipient or posted on their Facebook wall.    

Specific categories at launch include Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Dance, Eye Care, Fitness/Personal Trainers/Gyms, Fitness Retailers, Holistic Medicine and Dentistry, Nutrition Consultants/Weight Loss, Nutrition Retailers, Organic Restaurants, Spa/Massage Therapy/Beauticians/Cosmetology, Yoga and others.

“People want to look and feel their best, and everyone loves to be pampered,” says Lindsey Neduchin, a Philadelphia-based image consultant and personal shopper with Beth Strange Image Consulting. “A gift of health and wellness can have a wonderful effect on self image. Aside from being a creative gift, it also says ‘I really do care about you.’”

Orhea is the brainchild of Paul Tenberg, a longtime computer software professional and entrepreneur and Eric Friedman, a dentist and owner of Absolute Smile dental offices.  Both successful entrepreneurs and health and fitness advocates, the co-founders realized that giving health-related gifts was much more personal than sending books, electronic gadgets, or store gift cards, yet there was no easy and user-friendly way to give such gifts.  Philadelphia, home to so many health and wellness businesses of all stripes, seemed ripe for a service that would bring them together in one marketplace, and serve as a matchmaker between them and prospective customers.  The name Orhea was derived from the name of the Greek goddess of Life and Health.

Orhea will host its official launch party on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at North Bowl Lounge n Lanes, 909 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, from 6-9 p.m.  All health and wellness providers in the Philadelphia area are invited.
